Eco-workshop in Greece

Eco-workshop in Greece

The first eco-workshop within the project „Act eco-locally to change into eco-globally” took place in Greece from 11th to 15th March 2024. Our school was represented by 5 students and 2 teachers (Agnieszka Stańczyk-Jabłońska oraz Izabela Szymańska) who patrticipated in all the activities prepared by the school from Greece. They cooperated with students from Greece, Croatia, Turkey, Romania and Portugal doing lots of activities prepared by the Greek partner.

During the workshops on calculating the ecological footprint comparing it with other countries students enlarged their knowledge on ecological issues and gained the importance of their personal decisions and behaviors in preserving the environment. All the activities provided young people with the opportunity to understand global issues and develop international solidarity and cooperation with their peers from 5 partner countries.

Students and teachers also participated in the workshop organized by the Environmental Center of Mouzaki where they were introduced to practical methods of environmental protection and sustainable development. They also had visits to cultural and historical landmarks. They visited the magnificent monasteries of Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and toured the Acropolis, a symbol of ancient Greek civilization. These experiences provided students not only with educational but also unforgettable cultural experiences. Thanks to the project students had an opportunity to work on the ecological aspects in international teams gaining knowledge about ecology and environmental protection. They had a chance to meet young people from other countries and managed to form international friendships that will last beyond the end of this mobility.
